Event Management Activity 9: Critical Path Analysis

"Critical Path Analysis" is an activity that helps you to identify the key sequence of actions which must be taken for a event management project to complete on time.

All you will need in this activity is to download the activity sheets, and some pencil and paper.

You are given below a template which will make things much easier for you.

What you are required to do is to calculate the earliest start time and latest finish times for each task. The schedule of event tasks provides two very important pieces of information:

(a) The duration of each activity

(b) The predecessor(s) of each activity.

Start from the beginning and use this information to calculate the earliest start time for each activity (this is called the forward pass).

Then start from the end and work backwards to calculate the latest finish time for each activity (this is called the backward pass).
